Walt Disney strikes again with the loveable Lilo and Stitch movie. Created in 2002, this animated adventure film focuses on two mischievous individuals; a young Hawaiian girl name Lilo Pelekai and a blue animal, alien like creature who gets adopted by Lilo as her pet dog and is given the name of Stitch!
Stitch has been created by a scientist who the aim to cause chaos and destruction and to begin with Stitch uses Lilo to avoid being captured by an intergalactic federation, however Lilo and Stitch develop a close friendship which is name ‘ohana’ in the film. The bond between them leads Stich to re-think his original aim of being destructive and Lilo helps Stitch unlock his heart and he soon learns the ability to love and care for someone.

Facts about Lilo and Stich that you may not of known before
- The original story told the tale of an alien living in a forest and followed him overcoming his isolation and find out where he cam from. Lilo was not apart of the original story
- Stitch, originally wasn’t supposed to talk but the filmmakers decided the the story needed to let Stitch express himself and they could only achieve this is he spoke, so decided to start developing his voice
- Lilo and Stich was the first Disney animation since Dumbo to use watercolour painting in the background of the scenes
- Lilo and Stich was the first feature length film to be set in Hawaii
- After the 9/11 attacks the scene with Stitch and Jumba flying a spaceship through Kauai was started again from scratch. The original scene saw the pair in Boeing plane flying through the city centre
