SummerSlam 2021 – Latest Updates

Time to get excited WWE fans: SummerSlam 2021 is just around the corner, taking place at Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas on the 21st August (YAY!).

The history of SummerSlam goes back to 1988, where it was one of WWE's original four annual pay-per-views (along with Wrestlemania, Survivor Series and Royal Rumble) before new events were added to the calendar, offering a different PPV every month. SummerSlam is often considered to be the second biggest WWE event of the year... behind Wrestlemania, of course. Not only is this year's event the first to take place on a Saturday since 1992 (held at London's Wembley Stadium) it will be the first to be aired live in cinemas!

For the time being, only three matches have been confirmed for the event card. A Triple Threat Match for the Raw Women's Championship sees title holder Nikki A.S.H take on 'The Queen' Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley. Nikki won last month's Money in the Bank PPV match, cashing in her contract the very next night on Raw and winning the title from Flair.

In a WWE Championship match, Bobby Lashley defends his belt against Goldberg, while Universal Champion Roman Reigns puts the title on the line against the returning 16-time World Champion John Cena!
