*This article contains spoilers*

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the second film in the saga about Doctor Strange, the sorcerer played by Benedict Cumberbatch and provided by Marvel Studios.

The film is part of the so-called Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Walt Disney Pictures will distribute Doctor Strange 2 around the world, set for theatrical release on May 24, 2022, barring unforeseen events.

Directed by Sam Raimi and written by Jade Halley Bartlent and Michael Waldron the stars of the cast are Elizabeth Olsen in the role of Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch and Benedict Wong in the role of Wong.

Doctor Strange 2 – whose official title is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – will follow the new horror adventure of the Sorcerer Supreme alongside Wanda Maximoff, who officially became Scarlet Witch after the sad events of WandaVision.

After the events of ‘Avengers: Endgame’, Dr. Stephen Strange continues his research on the Time Stone.

But an old friend turned enemy tries to destroy all the sorcerers on Earth joking with Strange’s plan and also unleashing unspeakable evil against him.

The WandaVision series serves as an introduction to the film starring Benedict Cumberbatch, whose events are expected to be largely influenced by the story of the heroine, who has now come into possession not only of the ‘Darkhold’, but also of every greater power and knowledge through the manuscript.

In the series finale we saw Wanda reading the book that previously belonged to Agatha Harkness, while in the distance the voices of her two sons Tommy and Billy plead for her help. A sign that, in all likelihood, Scarlet will attempt to use the Darkhold’s magic to bring the children back and free them from the dimension they are trapped in.
