Black Adam - The movie

Black Adam will be released on July 29, 2022 in all theatres; the director is Jaume Collet-Serra and at the distribution Warner Bros. Pictures.

Leading actors include Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (Black Adam), Pierce Brosnan (Doctor Fate), Aldis Hodge (Carter Hall / Hawkman), Sarah Shahi (Adriana Tomar / Isis) and Noah Centineo (Al Rothstein / Atom Smasher).

Black Adam will be played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, DC Comics villain, and archenemy of Shazam.

Comic’s plot

There is no official plot for the film yet, but we know that in the comics Black Adam is a corrupt antihero trying to clean up his reputation.

His story begins in the Kahndaq (imaginary nation) which is razed to the ground, with a fire, by Ahk-Ton, an attack which causes the death of Teth Adam's wife and son; this fact completely undermines the mental health of Adam, who, having got rid of the Pharaoh, decides to take his place to rule the whole world.

Shazam, realizing the total change of our antihero, takes him away from his powers and banishes him to the edge of the universe.

It is speculated that the film should be set approximately 5,000 years after these events.

Curiosity

DC's Black Adam movie had already been announced in 2019 and is expected to follow the events of the first "Shazam!" movie; at the moment it has not yet been stated whether it will also be linked to the second film in the Shazam saga, whose title is "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" and is expected, hopefully, for June 2, 2023.

In the beginning our anti-hero was supposed to appear in the movie "Shazam!" as the final enemy, but they have opted to reserve a separate film for him; let's not forget that this film will introduce us to the "Justice Society of America".

The costume

Black Adam's costume will be extremely detailed and will include two Apkallu (wise and semi-divine beings belonging to Mesopotamian mythology).
