Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Has Launched in All Cinemas!

The new Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is out in cinemas now! The space opera film has finally landed which sets out to conclude not just the events that  un folded in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi but those running through a trilogy of trilogies!

The ninth chapter in the space saga brought in an around $176 million in North America making Rise of Skywalker the third highest grossing opening of 2019! The film brings an end to the battle between Daisy Ridley’s Rey and Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren whilst closing the epic family drama of Skywalkers.

The Rise of Skywalker ends with a massive space battle between the Resistance and the First Order. The battle commences in the Planet of Exogol which is in an uncharted region. Emperor Palpatine who manages to survive being thrown down a shaft in Return of the Jedi, has been quietly plotting. You see vats of cloned Snokes, indicating he’s been involved since The Force Awakens. As viewers, we are still not given many clues as to how he survived.

A large part of the movie focuses on locating Exogol, including a mission to find a ‘Wayfinder’ that features as a star map guiding to the planet. In the scene where Rey confronts Kylo Ren and defeats him on the moon of Endor, she takes his ship, which happens to already have a Wayfinder in place from the start of the film. She starts to make her journey to Exogol and leaves a trail of breadcrumbs for the resistance to follow.
