Rainbows Hospice - Why every penny counts

Since 1994 we’ve opened our doors and hearts to those children and the people who love them most. And now more than ever, we need your help to keep on bringing care and happiness to our children and families. As the East Midlands’ only hospice for children and young people, Rainbows is a place where children with life-limiting conditions and their families can find care and support. Our incredible team of people help with end of life care, symptom management, short breaks and respite care. We're also there to support parents and siblings through their bereavements and care for children until the end.

  • £5 could fund a gift of a smile. A smile on the face of one of our children or young people, what gift could be more precious than that? We provide a place for children to play, laugh and receive the best care possible. Along the way we support mums, dads, brothers, sisters and grandparents - because life-limiting illnesses affect the whole family. This gift would help us to continue to spread the smiles.

  • £15 could provide the gift of art. Every child likes to play with paint and glitter. At Rainbows, playing with art and crafts materials is great therapy, as it gives our children and their siblings the opportunity to have fun and express themselves, no matter what their disability. Our Arts and Crafts room is always busy and this gift will help to make sure the cupboards are always stocked with paper, glue, and glitter and that our skilled Play Team are there to make the magic happen.

  • A £26 donation could fund one hour of care. We provide hospice care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their whole family..
  • £35 could make a splash at Rainbows. The Hydrotherapy Pool at Rainbows provides a unique opportunity for our children and young people. A chance to move their bodies freely and experience different sensations. Whether it’s a physiotherapy session, or just an opportunity to make a splash, everyone can have a great time. This gift would help to enable all of our children, even those who rely on a ventilator and have limited mobility, to enjoy a session in our warm Hydrotherapy Pool.

During this difficult time Rainbows is struggling with funding every pound really does count.
