Friends set to Reunite in May for a one-off Special on HBO Max 📺🤩🎥

Friends is Coming Back!

Okay so the news is officially in! Friends are reuniting for a one off-special more than 15 years since the iconic show ended! The original friends cast took to Instagram over the weekend with the caption ‘It’s happening’ to announce the news of their reunion! The show will be available on the streaming platform HBO Max and will premiere in May according to HBO.

Every member of the cast will appear for the one-off special which was first aired in 1994 as an NBC sitcom with its final episode airing back in 2004.

The reunion will be unscripted and is set to feature the series creators, David Crane and Martha Kauffman along with the actors, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer. The filming will take place in the infamous Warner Bros studio in Burbank, California- this was where the entire 10 seasons were originally filmed!

Speaking to a Hollywood reporter, Kevin Reilly, the chief content officer at HBO Max said he was happy to have seen the show “catch on with viewers generation after generation. It taps into an era when friends – and audiences – gathered together in real time and we think this reunion special will capture that spirit, uniting original and new fans.”

 After a lot of speculation since Jennifer Anniston dropped some hints that a reunion was on the cards last year, there have been plenty of media reports about a potential reunion. Speaking to Ellen Degeneres on her talk show, Anniston said ‘We would love for there to be something, but we don’t know what that something is. So we’re just trying. We’re working on something’.

All 10 seasons were previously available to watch via Netflix, however WarnerMedia-created SVOD platform took the streaming rights to the show from Netflix in a deal with Warner Bros meaning that ‘Friends’ is no longer available on Netflix. It was one of Netflix’s most watched shows!
